Everyone has their own path to enlightenment. Some never get to the end of the path, others arrive and leave, and a very few stay. The lucky ones stay.
Even in my seeking I know I am wrong. I know the Zen saying, “stop walking, you are already there.”
But part of my journey is the seeking, just as part of my story is drinking: despite the pain it has to be done.
Osho’s thoughts on Enlightenment:
It is said that the path of enlightenment is like a bird flying in the sky: it leaves no footprints behind; nobody can follow the footprints of the bird. Every bird will have to make its own footprints, but they dissapear immediately as the bird goes on flying. Similar is the situation, that’s why there is no possibility of a leader and a follower. That’s why I say these people like Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, Kirshna—who say, “You just believe me and follow me”—don’t know anything about enlightenment (78).
Enightenment is a very individual song—always unknown, always new, always unique. It never comes as a repetition. So never compare two enlightened persons; otherwise you are bound to do injustice to one or the other, or both. And don’t have any fixed idea (81).

Hm. Interesting concept. Food for thought for sure!
this is fascinating. for me, i like to think that those who've walked the spiritual path before me and written about it (or in many cases, where others have written what they've spoken about it) are offering up what worked for them with the understanding that all souls will find their way back to the source-god-union-bliss in whatever way resonates with them.
great post!
I love that part of your journey is seeking. I feel that way everyday. Sometimes I'm afraid that I already found out...is it worth to still search?
Little bird, Osho is way too bold and his statements regarding the three monotheistic religions are either ill informed or just misguided (e.g. see Sufi Islam). Either way, the last time I checked, Jesus wasn't linked to any acts of bioterrorism nor was he deported for falsifying immigration documents.
Osho also puts forth a self-defeating argument. Jesus, Moses, ... are all put down for saying "follow me" while he goes on and does the same thing, pushing his own ideas: individual song, always new, never compare, ... By following this, you are following him because that's what he said to do.
Having said that, I agree with the idea of finding our own way to enlightenment. Did I say too much? Just my two cents :)
I've never heard “stop walking, you are already there.” but I want to give that quote a hug.
Osho's thoughts on Enlightenment are right up my alley.
One could say to him "stop talking, it's already been said" but that doesn't work for me. His message isn't a repeat of commands and actually seems quite free and open-ended to me....

very true little bird... I should say osho !! Osho's words are also like flying birds if we accept by heart (not brain, mind it!!!)just following the heart we can have our own way of enlightenment(As heart is always unsullied and it is the brain that makes us corrupt and politician).
Well nice.... blog little bird!!
